Xuan Blooming was born in Vietnam, where her childhood in a small village surrounded by mountains and sea shaped her deep connection to nature, imagination, and storytelling. Her name, “Xuan,” means spring, and her Buddhist name, “Blooming,” reflects her belief that, like flowers in spring, everyone has the ability to grow and flourish.

Her journey has taken her from Vietnam to Singapore and now to Germany, where she lives today. These experiences of moving between cultures and adapting to new environments have profoundly influenced her writing, inspiring stories about belonging, kindness, and embracing differences.

Xuan is hearing-impaired and experiences the world through hearing aids, a perspective that has deepened her appreciation for life’s quiet beauty and shaped her thoughtful voice as a writer.

She began writing stories as a child, encouraged by her family and inspired by nature, folklore, and everyday life. Different Kind Of Bear is her debut children’s picture book, reflecting themes of immigration, empathy, and the power of kindness.
